■FERTILE GROUND　／　ファータイル・グラウンド
米国メリーランド州ボルティモアのジャズ・ファンク・バンド。
ヴォーカルのナバシャ・ダーヤ（Navasha Daya）と、彼女の夫で作曲を手掛けるジェイムス・コリンズを中心に、'97年に結成された。デビューしてすぐに地元ボルティモアで「最優秀R&Bバンド賞」を獲得。ナバシャも、「ビリー・ホリデイ・コンペティション」で優勝を果たした。ブルース、ラテン、フリー・ジャズ、ソフル、ファンクなど、様々な要素を取り入れながら、独自のサウンドを確立している。
