イギリス生まれ。ビートルズやスティーヴィー・ワンダーを聴きながら育ったという。
10代になると、ウェザー・リポートやハービー・ハンコック、チック・コリアなどのフュージョンに傾倒。
その後、デトロイト・テクノに触発され、楽曲をつくりはじめるようになった。
